Anchored in Service, A Network of Churches Meeting Community Needs One Daughter Church At A Time

Freedom Community Church Hopewell is part of a network of churches and has been born to bring glory to God and to meet the unique needs of a veteran community in Pennsylvania. The Lord has given Pastor Brittany and her team Isaiah 57:14 on which to anchor their faith and assignment,“Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”

The vision is multifaceted and includes: holiness, consecration, and community. Freedom Community Church Hopewell has a heart to care for their community, to eliminate isolation and loneliness, and to serve their large veteran community and first responders.

Pastor Brittany credits the success of this new church plant to close mentorship and spiritual oversight throughout the journey, a unified planting team, and tools that DCPI has provided.

The Mother church, Freedom Community Shrewsbury, pastored by Tom and Judy Herbert worked closely with Pastor Brittany and her husband to prepare them for the daughter church plant. They personally took them through DCPI's Church Planting Essentials (CPE) training track. Pastor Tom is also the Director of Harvest Network International (HNI). This mother/ daughter concept is a vital part of this story.

Pastor Brittany asserts that DCPI was the missing piece for their team. The CPE Track provided an invaluable framework for her as the visionary church planting pastor. She and her team utilized the timeline and task list from the CPE track. The timeline was instrumental, from vision casting, drafting their implementation plan, to checking off their customized task list, which included necessary spiritual prayer retreats. She and her team referred back to their tailored timeline and worked backwards throughout the entire process.

Freedom Community Church Hopewell has a clear intention to multiply and to reproduce a daughter church and have established this as part of their DNA since inception. The new church plant had their soft launch in March and went live on Resurrection Sunday! Pastor Brittany, her launch team, and new congregation have experienced the Lord's sweet and pure presence which has brought healing, repentance, and reconciliation.

Pastor Brittany's advice to fellow church planters, "Work the plan the Lord has given you and seek him in all of it. As the visionary leader, stay true to His vision. Stay close to Him and cut out the noise. Have a good mentor, have people who will pray for your family, your marriage, church plant, and team. Don't neglect rest. Build in a week of rest prior to your launch.
